From the Cathedral to Salto do Can

Series: The enduring Ourense.
THE CATHEDRAL, the ancient core, the core, the heart, there between the new and the old, between roofs that squeeze together seeking protection, but standing out against the mountains on the horizon, over the vital landscape. In the middle, the Dome tower, where the arms of the cross cross, a tower that redeems us from the other tower, here piously favored, witness to an era full of history. The most beatiful thing that Ourense raises above its roofs.
Vicente Risco
FROM THE CATHEDRAL TO SALTO DO CAN, The mass of the tower and de dome give Ourense an unmistakable appearance. This in the urban area, and in the landscape, the Salto do Can, an old forest -that means Salto here – which displays some graceful pine trees, perhaps in memory of the forest that must have been there in other times.
